It might be light coming in from the apple logo on the back of the computer.

Put your hand over the logo on the back, if it goes away, it's light coming through the logo.

Have you tried restarting just to see if it does anything?

Is it an image on the screen or something physically stuck to/marking the glass? Try all the usuals, restart reset PRAM, repair permissions....

Put it on a dark background / turn the screen off and shine a torch on the screen.

If its something pysically on the screen like grease or dirt or whatever try using some VERY VERY dilute mild detergent on a damp cloth...if its a unibody then windex or windolene may work!
