    Hi All,

    I've just noticed that I'm having a few odd problems with access to my desktop.
    (Leopard 10.5.5)

    For instance;

    1. Even though my Finder prefs allows visibilty of DVDs and HD's on the desktop, nothing is displayed.

    2. I have a folder that I can see in the finder sidebar for Desktop, but again I cannot see it on the desktop.

    3. I can't drag anything to the desktop, if I try, the file springs back to the source folder.

    Can anyone shed any light on what the problem might be?

    btw, I'm a recent switcher from Windows, so my knowledge of OS X is somewhat limited.

    Many thanks,

    Bob.

    try trashing com.apple.desktop.plist in home/Library/Preferences and relaunching Finder by option-right clicking on its dock icon.

    Thanks for that richthomas, but unfortunately it didn't fix the problem.

    [Solved] Odd Desktop behaviour...

    Aha! Sorted it. The culprit was some Tinkertool left-overs.
