I recently acquired a 15" iMac G4 (for free-- yay me!), and I've successfully installed 10.5 Leopard on it. I'm posting this note from it, for a specific reason...
When I open the Applications dock icon using Grid view, I get this weird, semi-transparent horizontal gradient along the top and bottom of the "grid", as shown in the screenshot below (hence the reason I'm posting directly from the iMac).
Note: Switching to List view makes the odd gradient go away.
Using the Terminal "defaults write..." trick to change Leopard's dock to a 2D Tiger-like doc, apparently a trick to speed up graphics response, shows a similar horizontal gradient artifact. I've switched back to using the regular Leopard 3D "glass" dock.
Has anyone else out there with an iMac G4 experienced this?
