ODD PWR? Does this power the optical bay SATA ports?

I'm trying to figure out a power solution for my 5,1 Mac Pro and Titan X GPU. Can anyone tell me what this port, marked "ODD PWR" provides? It looks like it is the port that provides power to the 2 SATA ports located in the optical bays, but am hoping somehow with more knowledge can confirm such.

If so, wouldn't it be possible to run a cable from this port to the 6pin connector of a GPU to provide power that way? I am looking to use a dual mini-6pin to 8pin cable, so am looking for ways to power the other 6pin port of my GPU. I was going to use a dual 15pin SATA to 6pin cable and run it from the optical bay power, but then figured that power has to come from somewhere on the logic board. Is this port it?

Yes, thats the harness for the optical drive. Top left of the pin is +12V, Top right is +5V, and bottom two are both grounds.

If you don't want to cut or solder or tap onto the wires, you can unplog the two sata cables and the connector, remove the optical drive cage and the plate behind it, and slowly pull the cable up and out. It's gonna be tricky without removing the logic board because the right angle sata data plugs will get caught.

You can then just replug the 4-pin cable inside the main compartment and use the dual sata to 6pin cable. The connector has two grounds so it's enough to support the 75W 6pin draw.

    Thanks chriz_r for the info!

To your knowledge, is there a cable that I can get to replace it, that is essentially a straight 4-pin cable to 6-pin cable?

You're welcome. I don't know of a cable that directly connects to it. As per my previous post, your simplest route would be to just use the entire harness and the two sata ports in the end wit a dual sata to PCIe 6pin cable.
