Odd sound

From time to time my iMac plays a strange snippet of music, 3 hits on a xylophone. I do not see that I have any applications open and have no idea what it is. Any guesses?

Sorry, no. It's a new one on me. I had a look at the Apple sounds in the preferences panel but there is nothing there that sounds like that ... 😕
