Hey, im having some rather odd problems with the superdrive in my MBP.

Whenever I insert a blank disc the superdrive will read it almost instantly but whenever I insert a disc that has content on it like music or a movie or a game it really struggles to pick up on it. Discs with officially burnt data dont pick up very often but custom burnt data will pick up much better.

So say I went out to the shops and bought a music CD chances are its not going to work, but if I were to burn music onto a blank CD then the drive will have no problems reading.

I have tried using a lens cleaner CD and that helps a bit but not all the time.

I have also looked up system profiler and disk utility but it isnt showing if anything is wrong with the drive. I have also been searching for something like this for a while now but I havnt found anything on it, anyone got any suggestions, I'd go to an apple store but the only one close by is quite a journey away and my MBP is out of warranty 🙁
