At this point they are all directly from the factory, pretty much no actual user have ever used them.

I've gotten many replacement units in the past, they all were totally fine.
Most replacement units are equal or higher quality than the ones came in brand new boxes. You would think they pay more attention and make sure these units look and work well.

My replacement iPhone X was definitely better than the one came in retail box. The retail box one had a bad screen, gaps, left over glues. The replacement was perfect.

I’m having my iPhone X replaced and it’s within the 14 day return window. I purchased it through Verizon and I should have it in 2 business days. I had to pay the taxes for the new phone obviously. There is no way that I’d accept a refurbished phone when I paid for a new one. I don’t care what Apple says, you don’t know what you’re getting. I’d be willing to wait a week or two to ensure that it’s brand new.

I went on there and it doesn’t tell me what date it was manufactured on.
Of course it doesn't. It just tells you the week. For example: Week 46 which tells me it's 11.13.17 - 11.19.17. It just means it was built that week. You won't get what day it was built.

Yeah but then I would have to wait another 3 weeks to get one

Yeah the Apple supervisor told me they would most likely be brand new.

Eh.. I bought one as a gift over black friday weekend by using istocknow. They aren't that hard to find.

I agree. Are the new arrivals good?
I’ve only received one so far. It looks to be good but I haven’t turned it on yet.

It’s simple:
Look at your model number (not serial or IMEI)
F is refurbished
M is brand new retail box
N is brand new replacement

looks like you are using from your device. It might show more info if you used a desktop. However all white box replacement will start with "N" instead of M.

Seems like that's not quite the reality.

Nonsense, MacRumors forum posts and reality are always perfectly aligned.

Right??? 😉

Can't be true. I am looking at my 7, which I bought brand new in a sealed box last year, and at my X, which I bought brand new in a sealed box two weeks ago, and the serial number of both phones starts with an 'F'.

In the settings?

Heads up, this information is incorrect.

Make sure you look at model number, not serial number!

As above. You’re looking at the serial number which can start with C D F or G. Model number is different.

Well guys I think the first one is definitely a new one cause the software was really only 11.0.1 and the build number started with an N waiting on the other one to get here. Fingers crossed it’s the same.

Check the lifetime call time. I heard that was persistent through factory resets. Might indicate if parts have been used before.
