Haven't had any problems yet. I mainly only use Outlook and Word with the occasional foray into Excel. Nothing out of the ordinary thus far.

I HEAVILY use Outlook & Word so those apps have to be flawless as they are in ML. I have to warn you that when I had Office 2004 it ran twice as slow and buggy in Snow Leopard than it did in Tiger, so after that experience I am hesitant on any upgrade. However the upgrade from SL to ML worked flawless for Office 2011.

Crashes when you're not using English as system language.
They're working on it, or you can rename *yourlang*.lproj to en.lproj in Contents/Resources

Well, Office 2004 was horrible, if memory serves. :D At least, in my opinion it was. Or am I thinking of 2007?... Blecch. I'd honestly prefer to step away from Office altogether, but there have been advantages to keeping my work email vastly separated from my personal stuff.

One of my coworkers was on the Mavericks beta and let me know how Office was doing, so I was reasonably confident in upgrading.

That's because Office 2004 was coded under PowerPC, and to run it on Snow Leopard it requires Rosetta, that explains the sluggishness...

I think you meant 2008… That was the worse...

outlook doesnt work for me, when trying to setup an account, it just freezes. Have to force quit each time, restarted multiples times still no dice.

That's good to hear about Office 2011. 2013 looks like a mess and I don't want to give MS anymore money for something that I don't need to upgrade.

Word and Outlook have worked fine for me so far.

I'm pretty sure I'll be using Pages from now on though. It's so much better to me.

Running Office 2004 in Snow Leopard on an appropriate i3 or i5 will be much faster than it ran on a G4 or G5!

Office 2011 working well post Maverick but frustrating that I can no longer sync Outlook diary and contacts via Itunes.

all working well tho I have a question; office apps take longer to start, I had the same issue with ml. after start it's alright. is there any configuration to get rid of it? thanks in advance

Received my new iMac a few days ago, it came with Mountain Lion installed. So upgraded to Mavericks, installed Office 2011 and transferred files from PC. All works as expected without any problems so far.

However, does anyone know how to change the background colour in Excel. In Windows I could change a preference which affected the background colour of all application. Basically what I want is a pale blue background instead of white.

Cheers
