The annoying thing about the new SP1 update for 2011 is that it ties Outlook 2011 into Exchange 2010 only, it works for 2007 servers but once you install SP1 you can't create rules anymore if you're connected to a 2007 server :)

The only reason why only Exchange 2010 SP1 is supported, is that Microsoft implemented the necessary changes to EWS only in Exchange 2010 with SP1.

This is the bit that I abhor above all else. I often open spreadsheets containing my finances and make changes, usually midway through the month as I work out how much money I have left before pay day. Once I know, I close them without saving, so that at the start of the next month, I can update them with my salary for the coming month and my bills. Apple's approach would require me to create temporary copies and have me overwriting files I don't want to change. It's still the one thing likely to have me go back to SL.

If you haven't edited the file in at least two weeks then the file is locked against changes (the time to auto-lock is a global setting, and you can manually lock as well). When you start to type the program will ask you if you want to unlock or duplicate. The "correct" choice for you is duplicate. Then you make your test changes to the duplicate. When you are done and close the file, you have the choice of saving it to a new name or deleting. No overwriting files and the temporary copy never even needs to be named.

IMHO this is far better than the pre-Lion scheme where if you forget and accidentally save you can't go back (without going to a backup file).

Is that not what Versions is designed to take care of?

Yes Versions is part of the solution offered by Lion. When I refer to "current scheme" I meant "pre-Lion scheme". I'll go back and re-edit my post.

Oh, and I'm looking forward to the change in Office 2011. I was thinking we would have to wait for Office 2014!

Still waiting for this.

Won't Full Screen support require a pretty big rewrite in code in order to make the app more fully cocoa?
