I wonder if anyone can help me please? I'm trying to set up Gmail in Outlook 2016 for MAC, without much suucess , I may add. I have tried unenabling google security but it still doesn't work. I am getting the following error message that I've included as a screenshot. The password is right because I can still login to gmail via the browser.

It's not just me then ;-) I'll probly use Safari with the GMail App because I don't to be honest like the 15 minute delay on my iphone when gmail is set

I think if my only email provider was Gmail I'd use the web interface.

You should, however, be able to get it working in Outlook 2016.

I successfully use gmail (business account, non-gmail address) on Outlook 2016. My setup was straightforward but I've had some issues in the past. They were usually some POP setting that needed to be turned on in the gmail settings. Sorry I can't be more specific but I found this info in gmail's help for setting up for Outlook. It definitely works, just requires a setting or two changed.

That is one common problem people overlook

I can only see in outgoing server smtp.gmail.com There's no drop down menu or anything to change to
"outgoing server uses same settings"

I've tried all that before I posted, And as I said in the last sentence in that post, the password is correct.
