When will Apple release their band adapter for 18-22mm straps?
What official Apple band adapter. Apple hasn't announced any such thing.
I doubt there will ever be such a thing.
Nobody knows what you are talking about unfortunately.
Such a product doesn't exist now and likely never will.
Adapters for standard straps are going to be prime 3rd party opportunities. Some kick starter campaigns exist but I'm yet to see actual manufacturers releasing anything.
Are you meaning the lug that connects the leather strap to the watch housing? If so, I doubt it.
As shown in this picture?
Apple Watch User Guide suggests authorized, third-party band program
The classic buckle strap can be taken apart, and the leather band replaced. There are two screws holding the metal bar to the attachment mechanism on each piece of the strap. It shouldn't be difficult to do. I would do it, but I like the classic buckle strap as it is.
Why would they use pentalobe screws if they want to make it user changeable?
Its true that the band adapter can be pulled apart and used for other bands, but Apple doesn't sell them separately for that purpose. Not at this point anyway, I suppose we will just have to wait and see.
you probably mean something like these.
