Hello All - After doing some comparisons from the Silver versus the Black Milanese loop I found that the Black version is coated. I've had a third-party Black Milanese and saw the discoloration take place very quickly. My question is will purchasing the brand-name Space Black Milanese still discolor over time or is the Silver option the better in your take?

    Thanks!

I have the official Space Black Milanese Loop since it launched. It's been quite a long time, no discoloration at all. The official Space Black has the DLC coating, which is really durable. In comparison, the black coating on the third party ones normally are just normal paint, which would be scratched off easily.

If you purchase the official one, there's basically no need to worry about discoloration at all.

I'd be more concerned about the black Milanese scratching your sensor backing, case or screen...

I wear my Milanese bands a lot and I’ve yet to have them touching the watch.. a little careful handling goes a long way. I’d be more concerned about a million other things that “could happen” out of our control.. taking a band on and off can’t scratch a watch unless you let it.

I have had the Black Milanese band for about 2 years - first on my SS Silver and now on my S3 SBSS watch.

Still like new. Every few weeks I soak in a bowl of lukewarm water with a touch of washing up liquid for a few hours - comes out shiny and new :)

FWIW I put my launch day Silver Milanese strap in the bowl too and that comes out shiny and new too :)
