battery

macbook 2.2Ghz
age: 2days (its a baby!... and my first:D)
current capacity:5376 mAh
original capacity: 5200mAh
cycles: 4

okay so it says its three weeks old....hows is this possible!?!?! I bought it yesterday?? Have I been sold a used mac?

and how is current more than original?

i've had my mac for almost 3 months now and i have 73 loadcycles...

now this brings up some questions for me

how do some of you have so little loadcycles?
do you just always leave your laptops plugged in?
is it bad to do this?
is it bad to take out your laptop battery and stay powered through ac adapter?

no you have not been sold a used mac. the age on coconut battery is the age which your mac was first manufactured ;)

It's been almost a year since I got my MacBook (see sig) and it's still healthy as a horse! The health fluctuates between 70% and 100% from time to time, and the capacity sometimes goes up to ~5400 mAh.

hey WillJS, how is your macbook 12 months old, yet it only has 7 cycles?

do you always leave it plugged in or something?

so i took my macbook pro to a genius today. my battery currently has 70% health with 86 cycles. When the genius looked at it, the health was at 80%, he put it under a stress test, and he said the battery is *technically* still healthy enough not to qualify for replacement. he also hinted that within the next couple of days the battery could drop in health to qualify.

This is where you guys might be able to help me. Should i make an appointment now that my battery dropped down to 70% health? what does the genius usually do as far as testing? do they calibrate it? (therefore leaving me without a battery for a day or so) or would they trust me if I told them that i had tried to calibrate the battery already? If it does stay around the 70% mark, would they give me a new battery on the spot?

Thanks guys, sorry for all the punctuation errors and what not, i'm tying this at work.

Not to happy with this, after I calibrated it. It might get better with time, who knows. Last time I calibrated it last month it was at 100%

My macbook is about 20 months old now, and I just realized that the battery was down to 50% health with only 39 cycles (I usually leave it plugged in).

Apple was kind enough to replace the battery.

Age: 6 months
Cycles: 7
Original Capaticity: 5200
Current: 5336

Creeps up every time I drain completely and recharge to 100, which I try and do as much as possible. I hardly ever charge it until it gets into the single digits.

2.16 Blackbook

Guess I'm the only one that likes to run on battery.

That book doesn't exist.... but I know what you meant. ;) :)

Coconut battery doesn't work on mine for some reason, it's all screwy. Here's the bad news from the sys profiler.

Should I be worried? coconutBattery puts the age of my Mac at around ~6months and battery health is at ~74%..
