I'm sure all us facebook fans have been waiting. This is the last I heard:

I have been using mypad and it has been working fine, offers basically the same functionality as the native Facebook app on the iPhone. Still, I would rather have an official app just because it probably will work a little better. Also, using Facebook via flipboard is really nice, I would encourage anyone who wants an iPad app for Facebook to try either of these.

They still can't get the iPhone app right. It's still full of annoying bugs.
Amen. My screens now spend more time updating than actually showing me what's going on.
iPhone FB app is not perfect but it's much better than another iPad app that we paid for like Friendly and such BS
Agreed. The iPhone app isn't perfect but it is so much better than the alternatives, like Friendly.
No...just new chat with video Skype chat integrated (just one on one....not group like Google+).
I thought for sure they would announce this app was coming out today. Oh well. :|
I really get the impression Facebook just doesn't take these devices that seriously. That's why the phone app is so slow to be updated and improved, and the iPad app was never a priority.

I use Facebook so I don't need to actually talk to people to keep in touch. The last thing I want to do is video chat with them.

If they are that late releasing a basic native app for the iPad, I won't be anticipating one with their newest features. I don't understand their neglection for iPad all this time
i hope something big is in the works. the facebook for iphone app is pretty much unusable at this point. it spends like 2 minutes loading every page. I can go over to my computer, open a browser, goto facebook, then load the comment on facebook quicker then it will take the facebook app to load the same comment

As soon as Google+ becomes fully public, I highly encourage everyone to give it a look.
Additionally, Google+ is in the App Store approval process right now, unlike FB that could seem to not give a crap about mobile devices. Time to dump FB like a bad habit.
