Have been waiting for Chrome for quite some time. I guess December isn't too far away anyway.

i love safari...its so fast and it looks great. only bad thing is the horrible flash support and an inability to DISABLE TOPSITES. i don't mind the function, i just how it takes a snapshot of every website you visit and saves it. if you guys have never cleared out your website preview file in your safari cache (file > reset safari doesn't do it... you need to do it manually) you'll be surprised. i had 1.5 gb of stuff in there.

The current Dev release of Chrome is still really broken. I guess I'll wait and see if the BETA is any better.

its fast though, but i only use it for testing out my sites. and just typing in a google search on top is nice

I'm just curious what setups people are using that say the current dev build are broken? What sites don't work? Minus flash, dev builds are honestly 99% as stable as Safari. Even flash is about 95% as stable as Safari.

Plus it beats Safari in speed tests and feels faster in everyday use. Add extensions that already work (though won't be officially supported until about December), and I don't get the love here for Safari...

It's all about context. One of the reasons people buy Apple computers is because they're a cohesive system, the same [generally] couldn't be said of Windows PCs. Comparing the dominance of a convicted monopolist and their browser that doesn't conform to most web standards and Apple's Safari also seems, to pardon the pun, like comparing apples and oranges.

Utter rubbish. Microsoft was only doing the same as Apple does now, building a browser that integrated with their OS. When they did make Internet Explorer there were no web standards to talk of so they went ahead and did their own thing. Rolling out the convicted monopolist argument is flogging a dead horse. Apple are no more of a friendly cuddly corporation than Microsoft, their history is not without scandal.
