jailbroken iPhone can do video recording using Cycorder, a 3rd party software.

And you get to void warranty while you do it

Hopefully this will force Apple to do a better job with what they used to be good with - software. These Safari crashes really are getting annoying

vodafone = sim cards??
verizon = sim cards?

i know here in canada telus is going to be carrying it, but i am with rogers (iphone 3g) and actually interested in it, let me know if i can buy it unlocked from one of these carriers or if i can buy it straight unlocked thru RIM

Verizon does not use SIM cards (they use CDMA technology).... but the phone is world roaming capable... meaning you can still put a SIM card in to use in other countries. I don't know what would happen if you put a Rogers SIM in there... Voda is strictly SIM card though (GSM). Your best bet would be to get one with them and try to unlock it.

I can see one nice possibility already about the touchscreen:

No more accidentally clicking links while scrolling. You have to actually press to click a link.

Damned clever idea. I wonder if RIM will say, "And boy, have we patented it."

==========

I played a little bit with RIM's Storm simulator. I like that it includes a video tutorial onboard for some items. Never understood why Apple doesn't include onboard tips when there's a software update... especially with things like the homescreen customization.

Verizon currently sells a world edition Blackberry (8830) that use a SIM card.
The Storm is following in that tradition of being multi-carrier friendly.

And not to sound repetitive, but the Storm will also work on GSM carriers in the US as well.
It is both a Quad band GSM phone and a CDMA phone.

I cant believe these @#$$%$ s can't come up with a phone that does it all, have it all !!

no wifi ! jebus h. krist!

Just when I thought there that's the one...pffft!

I'm actually rooting for this to do well so Apple will be forced to add some more functionality to the iPhone. Competition is good for the market. When they need to, Apple will add copy/paste, MMS, etc. Until then, they won't.

+1
I feel apple is holding off on some of the other features because they feel they are so "ahead" of the game on other features. With all these "iPhone killers" or what not, it is going to be increasingly harder for apple to ignore the features that these products feature which the iPhone lacks.

it does look nice. I prefer the new flip phone from them but it only has 1 gb of space so you'll have to get a memory card for music...

why can't they make a bb with both wifi and 3g?! That bugs me but otherwise the storm doesn't look too bad. As long as the case doesn't crack after 2 months I'd be happy. :p

the question is whether your can unlock it to use on other USA GSM carriers (ATT, TMobile).

I don't they will sell for more than $299, given that iPhone 16GB is also $299.
