Mythic quest is a relatively quaint rip off of the genius that was Silicon Valley. Like "Friends" was objectively good, but no Seinfeld.
That's not even close to being accurate. Silicon Valley had nothing like Dark Quiet Death or Backstory, as far as bottle episodes. It's closer to a hybrid of Community with It's Always Sunny, and is completely new and fresh.

This show will always be inferior to Netflix Club de Cuervos, even the uniform is way better for Cuervos

And it’s won a number of awards from people who are not MacRumors members.

But you must be right, as you clearly are the only one who knows reality.
Who is talking about Ted Lasso outside of Macrumors?

Nobody in real life. Its not how people would talk about Breaking Bad, Narcos, Marvel Tv Shows, Game Of Thrones, ****…even Chernoybl had more buzz than Ted Lasso.

Even the Ted Lasso and ATV+ reddits are anemic.

Need I say more?

Admittedly, I think Ted Lasso is only OK. There is better stuff on Apple TV+ that doesn’t get anywhere near as much attention- in fact, nearly nothing else gets as much attention as Ted Lasso. Apple really needs to show off its other content.
I think things are moving along nicely.
A year ago there was almost nothing, this year a lot of stuff has been announced.

Don't get me wrong, we're VERY far from the competitors, but at least it's growing.
I'll keep watching the shows to make my subscription more valuable (I only took it as part of the apple one), but of course if I don't like one I won't watch it until the end.
I still have to start Ted Lasso.

A great example is the new Will Ferrel show "The Shrink Next Door".
I have no idea what to expect, it could be nice or absolute crap...we'll see.

For now I'm enjoying the many cool nature documentaries that are available on the platform.
They're no "Blue Planet 2", but still pretty good

Disagree, it's a show that some of my friends reference here and there and there is general awareness of it, its not only an apple website thing. Granted, its not an instant classic, but it is a very good piece of TV.

The fact that apple is hyping it everywhere, tho, shows that they really don't have anything else on that level of success, which is troubling after almost two years of having a streaming service. I'll stop getting offtopic

Like the merchandise, expected more choice, tho ;)

Pandemics will slow things down quite a bit.
What’s so absurd is apple probably paid for this rating

Now a 71 is a much more accurate rating for this show.
How are less reviews more accurate? Stick to Rotten Tomatoes, it aggregates from a bigger picture than Metacritic.

I don't mean writing style or even artistry. It mean that it anchored its setting in a fairly narrow subculture. In that sense, it makes sense that it does more character development because the context is pretty narrow. I'm sure it hits home with indie developers and anyone that's spent any time at a dev shop. Probably closer to a documentary like "Going Down to South Park" and "South Parks 6 days to air", insider corp culture, ego, hot tubs and all.

The satire and topics that Silicon Valley brought touched on much broader topics and many subcultures.

Getting back to merch, Diageo and HBO launched "Tres Comma's." That's awesome. I have a big cartman doll. What am I going to get from Apple? A coffee mug with the words "Ted Lasso" on it and a mythic quest shovel?

I have to pay them to advertise their show? 🤔 Isn't it usually the other way around?
No. No it isn't. It's never been that way. Want a Red Sox jersey? Pay. Want a North Face shirt with their logo on it? Pay. Want a Starbucks T-Shirt? Pay twice! And if it's not a "Genuine NFL Merchandise" shirt? Go. To. Jail.
Exactly. Subscribe for The Morning Show, stay for TMS, Home Before Dark, For All Mankind…lol
One of those isn't like the others. Are you sure about your list?
You don’t own a Star Wars shirt? A concert shirt? A shirt with a brand name on it?
No I don't. Oh wait. I have a Star Wars shirt. And a Styx ball cap. And a Taco Bell t-shirt. And my favorite t-shirt is the Maruchan noodles one...I thought about dry cleaning that one, but then decided that just getting a second one would be good too.
Buying tacky junk relating to a TV show/movie/band/sports team never looked 'cool'.

Hope that helps.
No, not until 20 years later. They have The Munsters and Batman TV show t-shirts at Kohl's. They're cool now, but they would have gotten me beaten up in the 1960s and 70s!
Turn the volume up.
No no, he needs to turn up the screen!
While you're waiting for those glasses, check out GEICO to save on insurance.
This was genius. Well played sir!
Apple is really excited to have a show that is half decent🤣
Which by definition means that nobody can claim that it's "not half-bad". Because it IS half bad!
