Because they changed their bank info it's a scam?

I'm not saying it is or isn't, but it's unethical to call people scammers based on opinion. Do you know anyone that actually lost money? Didn't these guys show their stuff on CNN?

I can think of far less elaborate schemes to make $1800.

Just hack the phone like the kid did. Now he does it with tweezers instead of soldering.

Um, yes... that guy. The money was transferred to an account, and it was their responsibility to give him teh correct info before he committed to a transfer.

Why would they email him to tell him that? Maybe they did make a mistake. After all, they're hackers, not businessmen with an Office Manager.

Would you really forgive someone who just lost your $1800 that easily?

EDIT: ...you do know that a bank transfer has no protection from fraud, right? Once it's done, it's done, unless the other party transfers it back.
