I was just about to post this. That shows they're looking at upgrades, and working with youtubes a pretty darn good idea.

How are they going to do the update?

How is Apple going to update the AppleTV, will they have us do it from the BackRow interface, or is going to be a download from the computer to the AppleTV wirelessly? Sorry if this seem's like a foolish question, I am new, and plus this seem's like a good question to ask.

Interesting. I read that Youtube is in the process of converting all of their videos to H264, starting with any new content that is uploading and working backwards through old content. So at least perhaps new content will start looking better on the big screen?

AppleTV already has an option (under Settings) to update its software. It remains to be seen whether updates will get pushed out automatically or if we'll have to OK them explicitly.

I'm hoping YouTube isn't the only feature in the update. The photo browser could use some work.

I think Google has plans to offer higher-res YouTube videos in the future. I'm sure that the business side of the deal is the problem (justifying the cost, getting content providers to ok it) and not the technology.

I am not much of a You Tube watcher, but I must agree that I hope this shows that they are pushing out updates to apple tv. I only hope when they update they fix a few other issues that people have been asking for.

I remember now, just I didn't think of it before, I'd guess it would pop up and ask us to update it, like Software Update does now when it pops up, and then we'd okay it. I should hope that they could offer higher-res video's.
