Officially unlocked iPhones?

Will we see any Officially unlocked iPhones?

I'm primarily interested in the European market. Though an unlocked AT&T iPhone would be nice too, but then it wouldnt be an AT&T phone, would it 😛

And, YES, I know they would be more expensive than $199/$299. 🙄

I believe this will depend on the carriers strategies.
Maybe they will start protecting their sales first, and in some europeans countries like France they will offer them unlocked.
We will have to wait and see as the iPhone 3G is rolled out all over Europe.
As of Today unless there is an official advertising or communication from the carriers or apple, everything else is just speculation.
