Other Offline listening.. which app, where to put the files, which format to use

I guess I'd email the song files to my phone? Maybe use Apple Music? Maybe use M4A files? Also where do I move the files to? (not using Mac or Windows or iTunes)

If you use a non Apple app to play music, the music files are often stored within the app unless its iCloud linked
