Lack of offline maps are a showstopper for using the new Apple Watch Ultra for multi-day hiking.

Documented my test of the only (?) workaround against Garmin Fenix and concluded that offline maps would to be a showstopper for using Ultra. Read the port for details...

I read your article and it says the 'show will go on', apparently, as there is an app that works, and makes Apple Watch ok?

Just cutting to the chase, so to speak :D

It is informative.

Doesn’t Google Maps support offline maps?
Nope, not on the AW. I think that they think there is no market for it. But there would be many people who would use it. I for instance would think that watch for adventures should contain off line topo and street maps of entire planet. It would probably take around 30+GB but they should do 64 or 128GB version with preloaded world maps. Just charge more for it and somebody will buy it (me for sure). Also, while at it put some decent LED flashlight Fénix 7X or Enduro 2 style.
