I knew macOS recently got a dark mode but I never tried it, not sure why. However, I forced myself to use dark mode for a couple days and I guess it has grown on me. I found that it seems a lot more comfortable for me on my 2017 MacBook Pro nTB. I think I'll keep dark mode enabled for now.

I have found a few apps that don't have complete dark mode; the work areas in the Numbers and Pages apps, for example.

How exactly does this work? Does macOS change apps to use dark mode colors or is this a thing that developers have to support in their apps? Does it use more system resources to stay in dark mode indefinitely?

I'm loving it so far, just need to learn more.

Glad you like it. Can you turn it off when you want to? I turned mine on and now cannot get it to revert to original non-dark mode.

Yes, mine reverts to light mode when I toggle it in System Preferences > General > Appearance. Yours should too, have you tried waiting to see if it takes a moment?

Is NightOwl a third party app.? Full disclosure, I was going to the wrong panel, the Display Pref. not the General. But revmaican got me straightened out. I think I'm just going to go back to flu.x.
Yes, NightOwl is third-party. It's supposed to be a nice app but there seems to be a bug or two the devs need to work out before I'll use it.

It's sad that Safari doesn't support per-site CSS files. I used to write websites and am very good with cascading style sheets. I wonder if a single CSS file would work for all sites to enable dark mode in Safari.
