I could not be happier. It came out of the box pristine, no dust under the camera, no sharp edges, no scratches, no screen defects.

Face ID works 99.9 times out of 100. More reliable than touch ID. I used it with glasses, I've used it with hats, with hoods, with sunglasses, in the dark and outdoors, laying down, in mid yawn once..

Battery life is phenomenal. Yesterday I had a full charge at 6:30am. I carried the phone all day, I played music in my car for an hour, I surfed the web, made some calls, answered some emails and streamed a 2 hour movie to apple TV. When I plugged it in last night to charge the battery was still over 75%.

Screen burn in/ghosting is fake news. There is no issue what so ever. Period. This is hysteria propagated by those looking for issues that don't exist.

Screen quality is incredible, and using this device in direct sun is a magical experience that I never thought possible in a handheld display. I simply glows, loud and proud.

It fits in my pants pocket. Safe and sound. No risk of falling out of a jacket or vest pocket.

Power. The A11 is lightening fast. Nothing to say here. It's fast and reliable.

If you are on the fence and have been spooked by the treads on these boards, know that while there have been a few legitimate issues which is perfectly normal with an all new device, the vast majority of the negativity you may have seen is fake news distributed by those looking to justify their own personal decisions, fanboys from the other camp, or those who just want to watch the world burn.

I would agree with everything except battery life. Battery life is unique to each person, and for me, I was getting a little better on my 7 plus. That being said, I would never trade my X for a 7 or 8 plus.

The majority are likely just as content with the iPhone X outside these forums in the real world, it's the concentrated negativity on tech forums that make the iPhone X seem much worse than it is. There is a reason Apple makes their iPhones successful, they just work as intended in a simplistic way for most.

I'll head this one off at the pass...

Hyperbole/exaggeration.

Not as good as the plus.

Inherently possible still with OLED screens.

Samsung Note 8 "more vibrant and colors pop".

No argument there.

Jury's out still once Apple starts deliberately slowing down the iOS.

All of the above is subjective, but you know what's the only fact? X is objectively the BEST phone ever made!!! Haha. I think this sums up everything I've read over and over again since the release. (The last fact is true though, and space gray is the fastest model).

I agree on everything except the battery. the more frustrating part right now is that it takes so damn long to charge unless you fork out more money to upgrade all the charging accessories. I have 1 iPad charger that makes it charge fast, but other chargers is like 3.5-4 hours to charge.

Returning my X for the new SE coming out.

- Not looking to justify my personal decision
- Own a $50 Black Friday Android phone that serves my needs for home phablet usage (https://www.walmart.com/ip/AT-T-PREPAID-Huawei-Ascend-XT2-16GB-Prepaid-Smartphone-Silver/854006794)
- Currently listening to “We Didn’t Start The Fire” on Apple Music.

The X is a good phone, but it’s too big for my liking. FaceID, just like TouchID, does not work 99.9% of the time for all people. YMMV.

Stick to what works best for you, glad you’re enjoying your phone.

I have to agree with the OP that the battery on the X is outstanding. I pretty much use my phone the majority of the day (music streaming via AM [about 2-3 hours a day], Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, check email, iMessage, Netflix [downloaded locally to my X]) and I usually still have around 50% left when I plug my phone back in to charge for the night (usually around 10pm)

Good stuff.
In another thread a 10yo is unlocking his mothers phone using facial recognition and you can’t even unlock your own phone with your face.
Good stuff.

If you've seen a photo of the 10 year old and his mother you'd see that they look more like 10 year old identical twin boys. And as far as 10 year olds opening iPhones, there was a 10 year old who used his fathers thumb to open his iPhone while he was asleep so he could download more lives on a game. So even touch ID is not immune.

As far my experience with Face ID goes, I would say that for me it has worked as good as Touch ID and most times faster. I have no problems at all.

I agree with all of these. I don't think my battery life is that good. I'm down usually around the 40% mark at the end of the day. However, I talk on the phone quite a bit for work so it's taxed more that way. I love this phone. I've owned them all and it's my favourite.

I could not agree more! Love this phone

As others have said, battery life definitely varies based on individual usage scenarios. My 8 Plus would only get down to 91% at the end of a 12 hour work day, whereas my X drops all the way to 65%. Combined with the fact that the X charges at the same speed as the 8 Plus, and I've definitely taken a big hit in the battery department. Still, I can make it through the day with plenty to spare and I love everything else about the X, so I'll manage.

Each person who likes the X should start a separate thread. That would be so cool.
Considering every person who hates the X is starting a separate thread, I don't see the problem here.

When are they releasing the new SE?

There is no concrete evidence of this happening, it's only been rumored. If Apple holds a spring keynote, I imagine that's when it will debut, which would put it at the two-year mark from when the original SE launched in March 2016.
