$64 shipped, it's a REAL Red Rose dipped in 24KT Gold. I figure I will go this week and get a really nice vase to put it in so she can put it on her desk at work. I will deliver it to her work on Thursday and give it to her boss to put it on her desk that night after she leaves. this way she gets the rose, vase, and a card in the morning when she gets there. I of course will do something special also on Saturday since that is the 14th.

Or should I just give it to her Saturday morning?

SO Ladies/Guys do think this is good, would you like to get one from your hubby/boyfriend? Let me hear the good and bad. Is it pretty or tacky?

I usually spend $60 on flowers that die a week later, this seems better to me and I can keep buying them each year to start a collection maybe, that is my thinking I guess.

That sounds all technical and such but looks maybe a little too garish, IMO.

I think this sounds like a lovely idea! She will definitely appreciate it.

I'm a girl and I don't like it, I think it looks tacky.

Once I got a rose carved in wood. You could barely tell it wasn't a real rose until you touched it, it was very pretty.

At work so she can feel special and show it off. It also extends the festivities to 2 days.

As far as my taste goes, I'm afraid I think it looks tacky as well. But it's not for me, it's for your girlfriend. You know her taste far better than us, so if you think she'll like it, I'm sure she will.

I'm not sure about the Friday plan though, as it might look a bit like you wanted her to show it off to her workmates just for the sake of it and she might feel uncomfortable. In my very humble opinion, I think giving her it on the actual day would be better.

I would be more prone to buying a real rose covered in glass instead of gold. The gold looks tacky in my opinion, but as long as she likes it then who cares.

EDIT: Actually scratch that, the more I look at them the better they look.

Tacky as hell. It would go well with a crystal-covered Vertu mobile phone...

Forget presents for Valentines Day - it's a Hallmark holiday anyway. Do something or get her something heartfelt - something you can both spend time enjoying or remembering.

hmm.. pretty tacky looking to me aswell.. maybe i just dont understand stuff like that.. to me the best gifts are ones that provide memories.. and not so much 'material' things.. think about it.. think back to your favorite birthday, christmas, holiday or whatever.. do you remember what you got or what you did.. most of the time its what you did that provides the memories

It's a neat idea, and I could probably spend an entire day going over ever detail of the process and be endlessly fascinated. But the end product just looks like something you'd find in the gift section of a pharmacy.

You know what? Its different, and I like it. Obviously its not for everyone but at least it'll last forever and she can keep it on her desk. Hoping that no one steals it. You should make her breakfast in bed and put that on the tray. I would be too afraid of someone swiping it at work.
