To clarify a bit, She has been my wife for 7 years.

Then she'll forgive you for your strange taste, as I'm sure she's aware of it by now. ;)

And depending on her personality, she may not like the "I had people at your office help me put it in your office" thing. If she likes things to be more private, she'll hate it. If she's going to show everyone at the office anyway, I guess it doesn't matter. ;)

I wouldn't worry about somebody at the office stealing it. It's way too ugly. Sorry, man, but that is just not a great idea. My wife and I laugh at all the tacky crap in jeweler's fliers in the daily paper. Please, nothing heart shaped either...

Then I think that you would know if she would like it or not.

Trust your feelings Luke. Reach out. ;)

If you don't think that it will fly, you can always return it as some have suggested. As for putting it at her work place, nice idea, but I think that it is better for her to decide what she wants to have on her desk. By giving it to her at home or somewhere not at the office, you allow her to make that decision instead of forcing it upon her.

For valentine's day, I'd say no. But I got it for my mom last year for Mother's day and she liked it. I think it's a nice gift, but I wouldn't get it for my girlfriend.

Yeah, I'm not feeling the rose either.

What are you guys going to do on Valentine's Day? I think a good memory is more valuable than anything material.

You know what? After looking at Zig's photo, I don't think it would look hideous if they were laid down on a really plain-looking wooden shelf of some sort, or perhaps laid across the mantelshelf above a fireplace. I wouldn't put them in a vase though. They don't replace real flowers.

Don't worry, she'll still love you. ;)
