Since it looks like you've got a Windows only printer ... heres a slightly clunkly workarround. Just print to a .pdf from the Mac, transfer the file to the PC (or save to a network drive), and print from the XP machine. It's clunkly yes, but it'll save you from buying a new printer or other hardware. Ideally the XP machine would be able to open/print/delete files automatically as you pass them over ... but I'm not familiar enough with Windows to reccomend a way to do that.

Well, I'm in Wisconsin, and this is the saying on our license plates, but I know California likes to claim this title as well.

Oh, and I want an apple store in Madison. The back corner in the compusa doesn't count.

Yes, we definitely need an Apple store, you would think we would meet their demographics to a tee. <sigh> Guess we keep driving to Brookfield. At least I can stop at Krispy Kreme on the way. (Speaking of things we need!)

at work the macs send print jobs to the fiery where the PC rips the PostScript file then sends it to the printer. maybe he needs some type of ripping software on the PC.

Or MAYBE this is it. You can buy software rips for the Mac that will take your PostScript file and rip it, THEN send it to the printer. we had to do this because our HP inkjet didnt have PostScript abilities.

It is the printer. I had a HP LaserJet 3100 All-in-one that I would try to get working maybe once a month. Never worked. It turns out that the printer port was emulated in the PC. Basically there wasn't a stand alone driver and apparently HP had licensed some technology to get it to work on the PC in the first place. Finally, got a Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS off ebay that plays nicely with everything. Also this link might help Linux Printing
