There were a flurry of threads in the beginning of people trying to run or lift weights with their 6 plus but surprisingly not much since. Ok, now that there has been enough time, who has been able to successfully use their 6 Plus as their MP3 player while running or lifting weights? If so, how do you do it?

The main reason I chose an iPhone 6 was due to having to carry my phone either in my pocket or in an armband while I work out. It's going ok, not as easy as my iphone 5 but I can do it. The people I know with the 6 Plus generally either don't exercise or they use an iPod. They really can't even sit in a restaurant with it in their pocket let alone do some squats.

I use my 6+ while jogging. It's fine. I have one of those waist band loops that the phone fits into very well. No issues

I use it while working out. I have some Bluetooth earphones and set it on the floor nearby for exercises like squats. For upper body workouts I just put it in my pocket.

For runs I leave it at home. Tried to run with it once but it bounced around too much and is a distraction.

I just ran the LA marathon with a 6+ last weekend.

And hiked up a mountain just this past weekend, actually! :p A normal week though is just 3-4 runs totaling 17-22 miles.

I tried the armband thing for a while and it was just too huge for me. Thought about using a pouch/belt loop, but I just stuck it in my pocket, which is the perfect length for my headphones. I use runtastic + music/podcasts.

I also just use it throughout the day as my general pedometer.

I actually find the iPhone 6 to be easier to run with than my iPhone 5. I think it's because it's lighter and doesn't seem to flop around in my pocket when I run.

That's the one thing I've never tried. The reason I started this thread is because I was hoping to hear some comments like yours.

Uh, isn't the 5 lighter than the 6?

I workout with my iPhone 6 Plus. It's normally in my pocket. It's fine lifting with. It's thin and light. When I run on the treadmill I will put it in the cup holder with my headphones attached. I suppose this is where Bluetooth would be nice but I like wired earbuds. I can't take it with me when I go biking though. It's too big because I like to ride with minimal gear if any at all. I couldn't even take my iPhone 4. I just use my iPod nano that clips onto my shorts easily.

No issues here....iPhone 6+ in my waist pack while cycling. Works great.

I tried using my phone with my runs, but at the time there was no arm bands that seem to work well. I've since moved on to a fitbit surge, which works better imo.

I bought a RunningBuddy off Amazon to run with my iPhone 6+. Got a few questions from other 6+ owners waiting in the corral for the San Diego Half. Works well for me and even attach it to my hydration belt when I use it.

For archery and bowling the iPhone6+ is fine, yet for hopscotch and jumping jacks the regular 6 is a better fit.

At least from what I've watched on TV.

I use my 6+ fto listen to music while weight training and cardio on the eliptical machines.
I haven't had any issues so far. It fits in my gym shorts just fine. Granted it is a little bulky but its worth the trade off.

I've been using my iPhone 6 Plus while working out since day 1.
I slip it into a Nathan 5k Runners Belt and am able to listen to my music while squatting, benching, etc. No problems here.

It's not that I would find it cumbersome, I just don't bring my cell phone to the gym or take it with me while running. Those times are "me time" and I can't be bothered with cell phone calls or allowing the phone to run my life. If it's just about music to go along with my workouts there's my iPod Nano for that.

I worked out with the 6+ for about 4 months and had no issues with it in my pockets, but since cut so much, it kept pulling my shorts down with having an otter box commuter on it, just adding enough weight, so now I got an iPod touch to lift with, find it a lot more useful because there is no temptation to check social media or text

I bike ride with it often, no issues.

Love assigned gestures to have vol up hold next track from LS and vice versa for previous track.

Got my iWalkman :D

I use the 6+ / Note 4 with the LG 730 BT stereo headset and works/sounds great. Just lay it next to the display on the treadmill, and keep it close when lifting.

Good thing I work out around 4:30 am when there's hardly another soul at the gym

I use a flip belt when running with 6+ which works really well. And then just keep it in my pocket when doing the elliptical or stair stepper.
