...but do you really love it?

Psychology student Bill Rifka -- who is 35 and in a relationship with an iBook -- admits he has "often flirted with many a sweet laptop on eBay and felt true desire." Like all objectum-sexuals, Rifka also attributes a clear gender to his partner: "To me, my Mac is male. I'm living in a homosexual relationship, so to speak."

I have a bitter-sweet relationship with any Mac that's under my whip-hand, although I'm the one who thinks I'm in control. I nurture time, attention and money upon them, curse at them, but never praise them unless in earshot of someone who casts aspersions upon them.

I must also try to get out more often.

My Mac is also a bloke... :D

Edit: Although I'm not particularly pleased with this quote:

"Singles, isolated people, cultural sodomites, many perverts and sex addicts."

I wasn't aware that being single was such a crime.

Don't you know it's "LA computadora"?

Although in Spain it's "EL ordenador"...

I'm a total domineering husband to mine. I treat it badly and then get irritated when it doesn't work properly.

Sample conversation from the other day:

Mr. Lau: "Aren't you supposed to wait until the light goes on before you bung it on the floor?"
Lau: Bollocks, it'll be fine. :p

I never thought of mine as having a gender though, and now, even thinking about it, I can't think of it as male or female. Probably a defence mechanism to avoid guilt at my bad behaviour to it.

Ooo... I just realised I take my 17" MBP to bed with me. It's so big and so warm...

To watch movies on... pervs. :D

But which movies is the question :p

Over the past couple of weeks: Three Colours Trilogy, Pi, Goodfellas (again), Clockwork Orange... Punch Drunk Love, Garden State, Mulholland Drive (again), random Sopranos, Seinfeld and Six Feet Under episodes.

Nothing smutty at all; it doesn't do much for me. :(

Still, when it gets a little hot, the MBP does start with the heavy breathing. ;)

Oooh some good choices there.

All my Macs have been female - must be like ships I suppose

Occasionally my g/f has caught me looking at another woman and said "You were looking at her iPod/ Mac weren't you?"

Sadly it's true

Do I love my Mac? Nah, it's just holding my over until I can get one of those awesome Packard Bell's I've heard so much about.

Seriously, it's not that weird. Ever hear of people who have sex with cars? It's pretty common.

EDIT: w00t 1800th post! Yes, I am bored today...

I really really really wish I did not just google that.

On the subject at hand I love my violin. if anything happened to it i'd be in tears. I can't quite say the same about my macs. Well, maybe my cube.

i love two macs. it's never a threesome, because i don't think i can handle working two computers at once. also, i don't want the older, slower one to feel inadequate or self-conscious next to her younger, slimmer and sexier sister. yes, they're sisters. is that wrong?

One of my macs was born a pc but switched over when she realised she just couldn't take running windows anymore.
