I preordered my black iphone 4 on June 15th and got $257 held by Apple. Now I got that $257 back in my account. It still says "prepared for shipment". I have a feeling it's going to get cancelled soon. Damn!

Well normally, that was an authorization that is to be returned to you after 3 or more days since they cannot hold the funds for more than a certain number of days. Then, they charge you again when the phone ships.

Except for trying to activate with 600,000+ other people on the same day.... Hoping for the best but planning for the worst....

Yea that one slipped my mind for a seond lol. 24th will suck in that aspect. Im expecting the worst. Will have delivered to work though so wont really try to activate till i get home that night. But then i forgot cant even play around with it till you activate it..... May have to try to activate it. Worst case I'll still have my 3gs anyway.

I'm gonna try and activate at night instead. Pretty sure the activation servers will be jammed all morning and afternoon.

Why does it seem like everyone who orders an iPhone has never used a credit card before?

I'm jealous of your sales tax rates. I'm paying $60. CA sucks.

Ouch!

Mine is 4% on the amount I actually pay ($199 not $499) and I live in the county. But even if I lived in a city it would only be 8% of the amount I pay.

When compared to the rest of the country, Alabama's tax rates on just about everything is lower. The only state tax that isn't is the income tax and I'd vote to get rid of it in a heart beat.

Yes same here, but I still love this state. I would rather pay more and live here then live in a place like Alabama (no offense bobsentell :)) http://www.comedycentral.com/tosh.0/2010/04/28/this-is-alabama-we-speak-english/

None taken. To each his own. I was born here and I love it. Not as much to do as NYC, but I actually prefer the quiet relaxing atmosphere.

As for the politician you see there, he came in third in the Gov race. I voted against him.

That's cool, I was born and raised in Pennsylvania which is probably pretty similar to Alabama so I think I can relate. I don't really care about the politics, I just like it better in California, because of higher wages, beaches, and awesome weather. :D
