Hi! I've heard lots of horror stories about the Fusion Drive splitting up during installation. Just wondering if its safe to update a Late 2014 5K iMac w/Fusion to Mojave 10.14.2.

Thanks so much!

My opinion is that it works, but any OS upgrade has potential risks. Make sure you have a good backup (preferably 2 backups) before performing any macOS upgrade.
Here is thread that has comments about fusion drives & Mojave- "Once and for all: Does MacOS Mojave work with Fusion Drives?":

Your drive will only get split up if its a 3TB Fusion drive with BootCamp installed.
If it's not, then you are good to go! Mojave is very stable and the conversion to APFS is flawlesss. Upgrade away!

Awesome, thanks so much for your advice!

Hello, I would like to know if you upgraded to Mojave and if yes, how is the performance? I have an imac 27'' 1tb fusion drive and I am thinking to upgrade too.
Thank you.
