Those of you who are also in Chicago, I feel your pain.

And keep in mind 6 months from now this city can get to 103F+. A great place to live if you are into the whole "season scene".

To get an idea of what it feels like, the inside of your nose starts to freeze within seconds, and if you spit on your car it pretty much freezes within 10 seconds. (I did it twice)

I feel your pain, its currently 51F... Thats like jacket weather! :D

j/k :p I'm sorry.

As someone who's never lived outside the Bay Area, I've alway wondered: Do your water pipes freeze in that kind of weather? if so, what then? [Sorry if this sounds silly, I'm just curious]

yes, you have to blow them out before winter (concerning sprinkling systems, hoses, etc)

went for a holiday to Sydney for 2 weeks, had 3 days in a row of 43°C temerature (109°F), wouldnt that be nice :p

I hear ya .. I'll be flying into Chicago in 4 days. It's not gonna be pretty. Especially after being in Mumbai where it was a pleasant 80F everyday!

It's -18°C (-29°C with wind) here in Toronto, and a chunk of the city is without power due to a broken watermain flooding a substation. I'm fine, but that situation worries me since my house has no power-independent heating system.

Ironically, the polar bear exhibit at the zoo is closed until July.

EDT: It warmed up!

Lol get over your wee bit of cold its nought. Come to Scotland we'll show you a all year round winter with nice gale force winds with ice rain bullets just for the extra bit of fun.

It's 52 farhenheit here in Scottsdale, and should get up to 75 farhenheit.
*leaves the thread before being lynched by the (cold-hearted) mob

It has been brutally cold here as well. I'm about two hours SE of Chicago.
Here is this morning's forecast in C and F for your convenience. That is Rochester, Indiana. It was only supposed to be -14 F last night! The Wind chills are in the -30 to -40 F range. The only good thing is this might kill back some of the bag worm out of my spruce tree!

Yea I've got to say I'm not looking forward to walking to class... it's not quite as cold here as some places, but 3ºF, feels like -12º is still pretty cold, especially for a kid from the Bay Area!

Give me a break. It's -28 Celsius here without taking wind into consideration. It was a cool -39 Celsius this morning with wind chill. That's -38 Fahrenheit.

Another from Ottawa, bloody cold today isn't it? I managed to drive from Gloucester Centre out to Woodroffe/Baseline and my car STILL hadn't warmed up to a comfortable level this morning:).

How many people here who posts temps are C/F?

Yeah but see, how often does Canada get over 100F? :)

This ain't nothing for you guys who are used to this, but for Chicago, this is insanity

It is -20F at the time of this post.
