Another from Ottawa, bloody cold today isn't it? I managed to drive from Gloucester Centre out to Woodroffe/Baseline and my car STILL hadn't warmed up to a comfortable level this morning:).

How many people here who posts temps are C/F?

I managed to drive from my home in the east end to Blair and realized that it was impossible to make it to the university on time because Ottawans really don't know how to drive in weather this cold (black ice). Turned around and went home. Not worth it for one class! Luckily my car was warm the whole time... LOVE the remote starter!

Yeah but see, how often does Canada get over 100F? :)

This ain't nothing for you guys who are used to this, but for Chicago, this is insanity

It is -20F at the time of this post.
Over 37.7 degrees Celsius? Not too often on it's own, but add in the humidity factor and here in Toronto that probably happens at least a few times each summer.

Currently it's -14°C (7°F) with windchill thats -26°C (-15°F) at the Toronto Island airport.... at least it's better than yesterday!

Same thing in Ottawa. Humidity kills us in the summer. We have so much water around here that humidity brings the temperature above 40 C (104 F). We really do get the entire range of temperatures!

The cold sucks, but skating ~14KM on the rideau canal on a mild day is an amazing experience, not to mention hockey rinks everywhere.
Also, cottages in the summer!

They meant in Fahrenheit. Damn people and their archaic units.....
Agreed, can we do away with Fahrenheit finally please? I Celsius is great, water boils at 100°C and freezes at 0°C (at standard pressure). Why the steadfast adherence to a confusing system of measurements? ;)

Yeah, in the summer we have hit mid thirties, we were over 40 at one point a few years back. Its not DRY heat the kills me, its the humidity.

The only thing I like about temperatures the fluctuate between 30 above and 30 below is that once spring comes around, 0 is going to feel like sex, and everyone is gonna be like "GET OUT THE SHORTS, LETS ROCK IT".

BTW, Celsius ftw.

You've had it? I can't wait to get back to it. :p I've been studying in London for the past two weeks and I've had people telling me how cold it's been here. The coldest I remember it being was about 25°F, with it being about 30-35 on average. I've had an absolute blast here, but I can't wait to get back to the freezing cold and snow.

Supposed to be a nice 8 degrees Celsius here in Vancouver today. We had our 3 1/2 week long winter last month *grumbles* Why do people wanna live on the east coast again? The weather is always extreme it seems...

It took me an hour and a half to get to work today. Most of it was spent in -17 F temps waiting on the damn blue line platform. I couldn't feel my feet. I was afraid I was going to miss a client meeting. Thank god they were late too! They just got here and have so much on their plate that we may push the presentation back a week.

HA Florida FTW! (this is the first really cold week of the season )

Now if you will excuse me I'm going to the beach.
