Okay to put iMac in room with a fireplace?

This winter I want to move my iMac into my Living Room which has a working fireplace. It would be on a table about 6 feet in front of and slightly to the side of the fireplace. I know Apple can void a computer warranty if they find evidence of cigarette smoke. Would my iMac be smoke, soot or heat damaged from being near a fireplace? The chimney works very well, and it's a large room with plenty of air circulation. but I can't say that smoke never enters the room. The fireplace gets "occasional" use, not every day or even every week, but more frequently during cold spells.

It should be fine. If you want to be OCD about it, then place a small air purifier near your iMac whenever you have the fireplace running.
