This winter I want to move my iMac into my Living Room which has a working fireplace. It would be on a table about 6 feet in front of and slightly to the side of the fireplace. I know Apple can void a computer warranty if they find evidence of cigarette smoke. Would my iMac be smoke, soot or heat damaged from being near a fireplace? The chimney works very well, and it's a large room with plenty of air circulation. but I can't say that smoke never enters the room. The fireplace gets "occasional" use, not every day or even every week, but more frequently during cold spells.
