old audio balance bug returns in Monterey 12.0.1

An old bug was fixed in Big Sur.. and has returned in Monterey 12.0.1

The sound left-right balance gets randomly set off-centre by itself.. but usually when reconnecting Bluetooth headphones.

Sometimes the volume level gets reset to a level not previously set too, again when reconnecting BT headphones.

Any thoughts?

mine is similar but happens randomly - but most often when reconnecting bluetooth and changing volume

it used to happen over many previous macOS versions too - Big Sur seemed to have cured it
