How they are going implement that in the iPad version will certainly be the biggest challenge.

I used to frown upon friends who had an etch a sketch (partly since i didnt have one myself). I remember them being all proud of their "high-tech" drawing tool while im stuck with my cave man style pen and paper. The minute i tried one though, and realized its severe limitations, my jelaousy subsided.

I honestly believe this usless toy limited the childs creative development.

AGREED why would you pay MORE money to make your iPad function like a 20 dollar toy which you can still buy?
