I am starting a project to copy all my parents and my old photos. Looking for a good scanner right now (thinking Epson V500) but that is in another part of the forum.
I anticipated using iPhoto to assist me in touching up the old photos. But, since Aperture is so cheap for home use; was wondering if buying Aperture would be a significant assistance over iPhoto to justify the cost?
I have used iPhoto but I am not a heavy iPhoto user and will have a learning curve regardless of which app I use. I will be copying a lot of pictures so I know which ever app I use I will get better with it as the project progresses.
If I purchase Aperture, I would keep my existing iPhoto library in iPhoto and start entering my old copied photos into Aperture to work on and when I felt confident that Aperture is the program of choice for long term use, then move my iPhoto library over. Appreciate any input from both the heavy iPhoto and Aperture users who have touched up old family photos.
