I have an old powerbook (Ti book).
667 Mhz,
upgrade to 1 gb ram,
tiger (10.4.11)

Also installed adobe CS3.

All upgrades and installs went smoothly, but lately it is running really sluggish. CS3 updates get frozen before install is complete, stuffit expander freezes too. Firefox runs SLOW, adn I get the "pinwheel of death" a lot.

I know there are some things I can do, I just can't remember what they are. (Disc repair??? or something like that. What about OnyX?)

Any help would be great!

When I have had computers do that the only thing that ever fixes them is a complete reinstall of the OS. Why? I don't know, but if I did I could probably just fix them instead of reinstalling the OS. I know that once several files get corrupted it is almost impossible to figure out. Backup your files, and make sure you have all registration info for all your programs and then wipe the hard drive, reinstall the OS and start again. You will have no more trouble after that.

And yes, I have tried all the fixes without success when I have had similar issues.

Here is my suggestion remove adobe CS3. I had it on my PB 1.5 and it ran slow. Also how much HDD space do you have left? If you have a little left it will cause it to slow down too.

Here are the System Requirements for CS3

* 1GHz PowerPC® G4 or G5 or multicore Intel® processor
* Mac OS X v10.4.8–10.5 (Leopard)
* 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
* 2.5GB of available hard-disk space (additional free space required during installation)
* 1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
* DVD-ROM drive
* QuickTime 7.1.2 software required for multimedia features
* Internet or phone connection required for product activation
* Broadband Internet connection required for Adobe Stock Photos* and other services
