Hi Everyone,

I have two Mac Pros, an early 2008 and a mid-2010. I've been trying to get the old PPC game Aliens vs Predator Gold to run on them in Snow Leopard, and am finding it runs fine on the 2008 but the graphics are screwy on the 2010. Is it necessarily just a difference in the hardware / video card that's causing this, with the same OS? I don't know what else to look for.

Hi,

I think the cause is the OS compatibility of the GPUs installed in your cMPs.
Some GPUs "work" with older OS , but without hardware acceleration.
Here's an overview of GPUs for the cMP:

Rosetta is installed and the game does play - the graphics are just messed up. Mostly things missing, like part of a bridge you might be crossing suddenly disappears. That kind of thing. I was afraid it might be something with the hardware.
