Any ideas for some first person shooter that would run on a model 1,1 mac mini (1.66 ghz, 1gb ram). A decent campaign and/or a functioning multiplayer. Probably something old to meet the system requirements (can't even run COD 1 according to the app store). Tried out Marathon already. Is it possible to get quake or doom for free?

I'm downloading urban terror now. Most of these seem to need quake III to run.

Smokin' Guns is a standalone game.

OpenArena is a standalone game that supports Quake 3 mods.

Not legally. You can get Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Quake 1, Heretic, Hexen etc on Steam. They're DRM free too so all you need is an OSX launcher and you're good to go.
