S skorpien macrumors 68020 Oct 12, 2010 #3 Can you mount it in either Disk Utility (Mac) or Disk Management (Windows)? You can format it using Disk Management in Windows by selecting it and right clicking and choosing "Format..." Or you could mount it on your Mac and format it as FAT32 in Disk Utility. Then you can connect it to your Windows computer and format it NTFS.
