Old Unopened AppleCare for Mini w/display

Hi folks,

I have a 3 year old Applecare/with display sealed box that my wife forgot to activate on time.

Is it still valid for a new generation Mini?

But I don't... I changed the Mini for an iMac.

I'll call Apple and ask. If it's still valid I'll ebay it.
