Older Mini + Dell U2412M

I have a 2009 Mini (2.26/Nvidia 9400M) and I'm currently using a Dell 2209WA monitor. I was thinking of upgrading to the new Dell U2412M monitor. Is anyone using this combination? I know there were some issues with the U2210 monitor discussed around here, but I haven't seen anything on this model.

I've been using my 2011 base model Mini with my U2412M, connected with a DisplayPort to MiniDisplayPort cable for six days now and in that time I've yet to notice any issues, and certainly not those mentioned in the thread with the U2210 🙂

One thing to keep in mind is it (sadly) has a lack of aspect ratio control or pixel mapping so while its not an issue with OS X/Windows or even a 360 which allows certain 16:10 resolutions to be selected but if you attach anything thats 16:9 only like a PS3 or Blu Ray player it will stretch the output 🙁 not an issue for me as I only use it with my Mac(s) but worth keeping in mind.

I realise its not the same model Mini but since you have no other replies you may find this somewhat helpful

Cool, thanks for the info! Hopefully, it will work on the 9400M as well as it does for the 320M in your Mini. How is the quality on that monitor? I know I love my 2009WA.

Just got this monitor last week and I'm using HDMI to DVI and I must say the color reproduction is wonderful. I'm not using it as a pro photo editing tool but for average consumer use, can't really beat the price.

Dells Ultrasharp quality these days is very hit and miss and we all know what their customer service is like. I would recommend an HP ZR24w instead. This monitor falls under HP's business line so you get very good customer service if you need it.

The Ultrasharp also falls under the business line which is how I got it. 3 year warranty plus onsite repair. HP is good too but the style is from a decade ago.
