same story again and again over the past year, please Macrumors, stop reheating your old stuff or at least try to do some investigation and find new info

That's what happens at 5am on a US holiday ha. I asked Gemini if MacRumors had posted this article before and...

"Yes, MacRumors published a very similar version of this article on May 14, 2026 under the exact same title: OLED iPad Mini: Release Date, Pricing, and What to Expect."

I swear I've read this article a dozen times now.

Y’all know how MacRumors works, right? It’s a click-bait business. The more traffic they generate, the more advertising revenue they make. That model has existed since the early days of the internet. LOL.

Every rehashed article view, and even every comment, helps drive engagement which in return helps them make money.

The iPad mini will most likely not feature ProMotion based on rumors. It will feature an LTPS panel which - as far as I know - cannot support dynamic refresh rates. So it could only be fixed 120 or 90 Hz, which would play nicely into another rumor that Apple might work on 90 Hz OLED panels for other products as well.
I think most people cannot discern any difference from 60Hz to fixed 90Hz. 120Hz (or higher in Windows gear) is where you begin to see the buttery smooth scrolling and moving of screen elements.

same story rehashed but still keen to get my hands on this, been waiting to upgrade as have a 2021 mini 6. But, i don't want it to be any bigger than the current ones, it's the perfect size at the moment.
they'll probably only make the bezels thinner

However, Apple users who are looking for a more affordable option should probably consider the 10th-generation iPad instead. Starting at $329, the iPad offers many iPad mini features, such as Touch ID and Center Stage, but at a lower price that balances functionality and affordability.

Not sure you understand the use case for the mini. The size is the selling point; this is why the price is so high compared to other models - it’s a niche market with a captive consumer.

I swear I've read this article a dozen times now.
Yes, they have gotten bad about repetitive articles. I’ll leave it to you to discern the reason.

Hopefully the base model is 256 because iOS and system data on iOS 27 can easily take up over 50-60 gb of space in the current beta.
iOS 27 is around 15GB, and Apple Intelligence around 20GB.
That makes 35GB. Not little, sure, but far from 60, and ok if you have 125. Unless you're the type of person who keeps thoudands of photos in the phone without offloading them to iCloud.

This is the same information from previous articles. I haven’t decided if I am going to upgrade. At the moment, my 11” iPad Pro Nano is being used for night time duty.

The only thing I want them to do and I say this on every post where it’s mentioned is whether it be from a third party or directly from Apple I want to see a keyboard similar to the Magic Folio from the older Pro series. I don’t care if it doesn’t have a touch pad (though it would be nice) like the Magic Keyboard. This especially is true now that they are going to be dropping support for the iPad Mini 5 which I am still using with the excellent Brydge Keyboard.

My iPad mini A17 Pro is good enough and sees regular use, often more frequently than either of my iPad Pros in 11" and 13".

As a once early adopter quick to upgrade to the latest Apple devices upon their release, those days are over. It's not price sensitivity but rather the way this manufacturer has changed. The excitement is gone, innovation is muted, upgrades devolved in most cases.

Time to sit back and observe, let others pay the piper and describe their experience. Apple continues to be highly capable, but it's their decisions that are puzzling.

After years of the Siri debacle that was allowed to drag on, it will be entertaining to witness just what kind of results their latest effort produces over time.

I always knew that Apple’s first foldable would re-define the category.

Even iPod Touch 8 will make more sense at this point. Especially since there will be a large iPhone Fold. Maybe only reason one would go with small iPad is to save costs, it will be more than 4x cheaper than new iPhone
I have the Mini 7 with basically one app: Books.

I have two 13" Pros, but the Mini makes the best ereader and, for me, is much better than any Kindle. Using the Calibre app I can load any eBook into the Books app and keep everything in the Apple ecosystem--which is my preference.

You are forgetting the system data. It does make using an iPad Pro with 128 gb challenging. Again hopefully this is just a bug with the first beta but again its taking up more than half the space of the iPad.

I mean it is always, always good to have several sizes, but it is such a shame that Apple is underpowering them with simple A series chips, after all it is an iPad not an iPhone.

Btw I am still waiting Apple to realize people need mini iPhones, but they do not do that for some silly reason

Sold my iPad mini a few weeks ago and was honestly happy to get rid.

The Jelly Scrolling on my 6th gen model was real, which took away from the joy of using it. Moreover, everything appears optimized for either iPhone sizes or the larger iPads these days.

Let's hope Apple improves it! 🙂
