airplay mirror from an airplay compatible iPhone, iPad or mac.

My understanding is that airplay is blocked on the nbc app.

I don't think they can block when you are mirroring. Of course, you end up mirroring the iDevice dimension on screen so you will have some black bars.

That's good to know. Haven't actually tried using the iPad yet. Just been watching NBC regular broadcast.

Yes I was. Oddly enough my iPhone 5 didn't work as well as my iPad 2. I couldn't get more than about 15 minutes at a time using my iPhone. It would either disconnect or freeze. I also had to set the iPhone screen to never sleep otherwise it would stop the stream. With my iPad however I am able to watch close to two hours uninterrupted.
