Well, you see, I should probably explain, that, around here..(wigan) most people would realise that when I say I wanted to punch her, I don't mean it literally, just as a metaphor for the anger I feel. Or something.

I mean, I don't want to actually punch her. In fact, I just gave up around 4 hours of sleep to get up and take her to work :)

You have to note in england when you say you want to punch someone, you're usually just expressing anger, not actaully wanting to do it... unless you wear burberry, then thats another issue altogether

See :)

Call Apple and tell them one of your OS X discs isn't being read properly as its scratched. They'll send you new discs for free.

They'll charge. That's nice of them....oh wait.

As I said in my post....I told her to keep it. She didn't even look in the box...she just presumed it was empty and binned it.....evil woman.

speaking from a mother's point of view. Maybe you should have been more responsible and put the box away (at least in your closet) so that she did not feel like she had to throw the box away.

When my kids were younger, I did the same thing to them. I gave them fair warning about putting their stuff away before I went in there.

Got rid of a bunch of junk that way.
I think that the price of the cd should rest on your shoulder only. You should have been responsible enough to put up the box, when your mother first mentioned it.

Sorry did read the rest of the posts first. I was just a bit on the angry side. Blaming your mother for your mistake. Someone had to stick up for her. Gl on the discs.

 :p

Wow, dude. I had a similar experience. I lost my copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and I spent a couple days looking for it. I thought my stepsister stole it (she would do something like that), turns out is was right where I left it.....

Stuff is only in the last place you looked, because you'd just be wasting your time if you were still looking for it after you found it.

I just hide my MacBook box ontop of my wardrobe where my mum can't reach it (I'm much taller than her, lets me get anything I want simply by standing up! :D).

Remember... in Soyuz Sovietskii, you don't drink smoothie... smoothie drinks YOU.

В советском союзе, we think that joke is extremely old.

Спасибо.

In Soyuz sovietskii makes absolutely no sense. In sovyetskom soyuzye does. God, I can't wait until this joke is dead.

Actually, it IS dead. You're just beating the dead horse.

i dont see what the problem would be if apple sent out the disks for free. i mean all intel macs have it native on them and the intel version of os x wont work on ppc computers

anybody else see my point here? especially since all osx for intel is just tiger at the moment

No, I do not see your point. Replacement discs cost money. They also have value. If they did what you purposed, I could simply call and get a new set to sell on eBay.
