Are you using laptop?
Have you had an external monitor plugged in recently?
Go to System prefs -> Dislpays and click detect displays
Yea I did that. It's changed to only one monitor right now.
Does the app still appear off screen?
You may need to quit and restart the app
What I did was close the window under file in toolbar. Then I opened a new window under the same command in the toolbar. This brought the new window up in the visible window. Hope this helps.
Have you got an external monitor you can plug into for 5 mins?
No cause I'm at work and everything here is PC and I don't have the adapter plug for the monitors! Why APPLE WHY!? I got an apple to avoid problems not get more! *hangs rope above his head*
Just kidding, I'm not that crazy over this, but this does suck a lot.
Does the app have the little black arrow under the icon in the dock?
what's a list file?
I'm in work using a Dell and don't have access to my PowerBook to experiment.
I've had this problem but I can't remember the solution. Sorry![]()

A plist file stores all the app's preferences, including (i think) screen location. Deleting this file would force the app to resort to default settings, and thus (i think) it's default screen location.
Rather than deleting the plist file, simply move it to the desktop, that way if things don't work you can always put it back
OH! how do I delete this P list!?!?!? And no I can't move it back to the desktop because it's off the screen which is the problem!!
what application are you trying to use?
No, I meant move the plist file to the deskop rather than deleting it.
Use spotlight to find the plist file, try typing in "plist <app name>" into spotlight and see what you find
