AHHHH I have a deadline to meet and one of my applications for some reason won't appear on the screen! When I use expose I'll see it, but when I select it it'll go off screen again! I restarted and it's still doing it! HELP PLEASE!!!!

Are you using laptop?
Have you had an external monitor plugged in recently?

Yes I am on my macbook. I have an external plugged in at home but I am at work right now! And I can't get this app to run! Oh gawd why did this have to happen to me!?

Does the app still appear off screen?
You may need to quit and restart the app

Yes it still does!!!! and I have restarted app and retarted computer as well but they still continue off screen! Oh Gawd I'm gonna get fired!!! I'm gonna shut down and restart to see it that makes any difference.

Looking on Apple Discussions someone posted this:
What I did was close the window under file in toolbar. Then I opened a new window under the same command in the toolbar. This brought the new window up in the visible window. Hope this helps.

Have you got an external monitor you can plug into for 5 mins?

No cause I'm at work and everything here is PC and I don't have the adapter plug for the monitors! Why APPLE WHY!? I got an apple to avoid problems not get more! *hangs rope above his head*

Just kidding, I'm not that crazy over this, but this does suck a lot.

I'm in work using a Dell and don't have access to my PowerBook to experiment.

I've had this problem but I can't remember the solution. Sorry:eek: :(

email the document to yourself

you can always try emailing the document to yourself ( if you use apples mail program click "send windows friendly attachments"). This will strip out the window position and other related information. When you double click on the newly downloaded document you should be good to go.

as a furthe precaution before you open up the document, trash the preference file for the program found in <home>/Library/Preferences.

what's a list file?

A plist file stores all the app's preferences, including (i think) screen location. Deleting this file would force the app to resort to default settings, and thus (i think) it's default screen location.

Rather than deleting the plist file, simply move it to the desktop, that way if things don't work you can always put it back

OH! how do I delete this P list!?!?!? And no I can't move it back to the desktop because it's off the screen which is the problem!!

No, I meant move the plist file to the deskop rather than deleting it.

Use spotlight to find the plist file, try typing in "plist <app name>" into spotlight and see what you find

what application are you trying to use?

SPSS - It's a statistical analysis number crunching program. If I can't get it to run I can't do anything here! My boss is already getting suspicious as to why I'm not doing any work! And I can't hide in the bathroom forever (it's mucho stinky here)!!!!

I found the plist but when I open it, it opens with omni outliner...
