I had my iPhone XS Max along with a Sony a6000 out this weekend. The Max actually competed really well, especially in lower light shots where the HDR could really come into play.

Another one of my car. I think the new phones (I have the Xs Max) are better able to do portrait mode further away and on larger objects. Before I could never get my whole car in the shot when attempting portrait mode but now I can.

Just got back from four amazing days on the Faroe Islands with the Max. I still prefer my Canon 5D Mk4, but the iPhone makes doing panoramas so easy, instant, and good looking. Interestingly, I had better LTE cell reception at the top of the mountain than I do in my suburban Los Angeles home.
