What a blast from the past! And a nice touch and homage to the original iPhone and Steve Jobs's memory! Made me a little emotional even. Ah, the memories...

I'll definitely be cherishing it

The original iPhone actually came with a paper clip.

They’ve come with all of the iPhones that I’ve purchased (in Japan.) Both carrier versions and sim-free versions. I was pretty surprised when I bought a Sprint iPhone SE and it didn’t have one.

i wish they kept the sim ejector in the US boxes. does anyone know why they stopped including them?

I'm guessing some bean counter. They probably cost a penny or so. With over 1 billion iphones sold, at a penny extra per unit, it adds up to 10 million dollars, not exactly chicken feed. Then there's the liability issue of someone swallowing one of this extractors.

thank you very much, I'm glad i kept the one from the S8 i tried before i returned it and went back to the iPhone.

The story goes that as Apple became more Eco aware and began to focus on recycling and reducing packaging waste. In the USA, since the vast majority of iPhone are sold as carrier specific models, it became just another obsolete item that was easy to remove from the packaging. The bulk of the customers in the USA never had a need for this function specific tool.
